Fabricator Welder

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Fabricator Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and welding structural steel components to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely and in accordance with engineering drawings and project specifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in steel fabrication who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working as part of a skilled and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and fabrication details.
  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including UB's, UC's, PFC's, CHS's and other steel sections.
  • Carry out cutting, grinding, fitting and welding activities to meet project requirements.
  • Use hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all fabricated components meet required dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Operate lifting equipment, including overhead cranes, where required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to achieve project deadlines and production targets.
  • Wear all required PPE and comply with site and workshop safety requirements.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and report any hazards or concerns promptly.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in structural steel fabrication is essential.
  • Experience in welding and general metalworking processes.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Trade qualification in fabrication/welding is preferred but not essential.
  • Good understanding of fabrication techniques and steelwork.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to use fabrication tools, machinery and measuring equipment.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling steel materials safely.
  • Safety-conscious with a good understanding of workshop health and safety.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed with a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
