About The Role
We are looking for a Fabricator / Welder to join the team based at our Specialist Repair Centre in Hixon, Stafford. You'll be responsible for the manufacture, modification and repair of parts and assemblies metal components, to approved specified engineering drawings or instruction, through the safe and cost-effective use of resources, materials and equipment.
Main Responsibilities
- To carry out all fabrication / welding activities to manufacture, modify and repair items and components, including cutting, measuring, and joining metal pieces/structures, using various fabrication tooling and equipment.
- Accurately follow engineering diagrams, drawings, specifications, or other instructions to ensure exact output.
- Inspect and test welded joints for quality, strength, and tolerance.
- Dismantle metal structures and perform basic non-destructive testing methods.
- Safely operate FLT on site.
- Perform work and operate, store, and maintain all tools, machinery, and equipment safely.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, tidy, and well organised and maintained.
- Set a professional example of good workmanship, management, and discipline. Take a proactive, positive flexible and adaptable approach to work and be supportive of your colleagues.
- Identify and recommend any opportunities to improve our processes, systems, products, and innovations to help us become more effective and efficient in the way we operate.

Qualifications And Experience
- Level 3 Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering Technology.
- Proven experience of fabrication and MIG welding to a high standard.
- Demonstrable experience of performing fabrication/work activities to a high standard and using different fabrication tooling and equipment including but not limited to Guillotine, Plasma Cutter, Steel Benders, Pillar Drills, Grinders & Tapping.
- Experience in general and bespoke specialised fabrication tasks/jobs.
- Forklift licence.
- Good awareness of surface preparation and finishing applications.
- Experience of working to ISO 9001 and CE Quality Standards.
- Good ability to read, interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
- Basic maths and design skills.
- Be self-motivated and reliable with a strong work ethic.
