Fabricator / Welder
MERITUS are recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder to join our client within the Systems Integration sphere to support clients across Aerospace, Manufacturing, FMCG and Agriculture.
Fabricator / Welder - £28,000 - £35,000 PER ANNUM - TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE - FAST PROCESS - SECTOR: AEROSPACE / SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
You'll be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances.
The role involves both fabrication and welding activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal components.
- Carry out sheet metal forming and bending, including correct bend allowance calculations.
- Perform MIG welding (and TIG or spot welding where required).
- Manufacture components to tight dimensional tolerances.
- Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards with minimal rework.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Support wider production and fabrication activities as required by the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.

About You
We're looking for a skilled fabricator with strong hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding.
You'll ideally have:

- Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
- Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/spot welding beneficial).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
- Good understanding of bend allowances, tolerances and material behaviour.
- Ability to work accurately to tight specifications.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent) desirable.
