Our client is a leading specialist in the fabrication and installation of structural and architectural metalwork and is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder/fabricator to work on a variety of projects including staircases, balustrades, roof access systems, structural steelwork and secondary steelwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and fabricate a wide range of steelwork and metalwork products
  • Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld specifications
  • Set up, tack and weld components to tight tolerances
  • Perform TIG, MIG and MMA welding on mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel
  • Carry out final inspections and ensure high-quality cosmetic finishes.
  • Operate fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout the workshop
  • Support and mentor apprentices where required

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • Previous experience as a Fabricator/Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Experience working with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel
  • Strong TIG, MIG and MMA welding skills
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols
  • A strong understanding of fabrication processes and setup techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
  • SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or Engineering discipline preferred
  • Apprenticeship trained candidates are highly desirable
  • Minimum 4 years' relevant fabrication/welding experience preferred
