Excel Process Systems Ltd is looking for a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our production team in Derby. This is a hands-on role supporting the construction, repair and modification for projects of varying sizes mainly working with stainless steel.

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to cut, shape, weld and assemble metal components to a high standard. You will work safely, accurately and efficiently, ensuring all fabrication and welding activity meets customer requirements, company procedures and quality standards including ISO 9001.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fabrication work including cutting, drilling, bending and forming metal components using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Complete welding work to job specifications while following company procedures and quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Inspect finished fabrication work to confirm compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Use welding tools, hand tools, lifting equipment and other workshop equipment safely and correctly.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while also being able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, management and clients.
  • Support continuous improvement by helping to reduce waste, improve efficiency and streamline work processes.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in welding and metal fabrication within a workshop, engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Good practical knowledge of fabrication methods, workshop tools and safe working practices.
  • A strong focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A positive, professional and motivated attitude.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Commitment to health, safety and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
