About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated EWI Façade Engineer to provide technical support from the initial specification and design stages through to project completion. Working closely with architects, contractors, developers, and internal teams, you will deliver technically compliant façade solutions while supporting customers throughout the construction process.

Job Location: Office-based – either Milton Keynes (MK3) or Walsall (WV13), depending on the successful candidate’s location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance on External Wall Insulation (EWI) and façade systems to customers, contractors, architects, and internal teams.
  • Produce compliant system designs, technical specifications, and construction details for façade projects.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings, U-value calculations, technical assessments, and project documentation.
  • Develop technical and commercial proposals, including estimating support and pricing packages.
  • Review architectural drawings and advise on suitable façade system solutions.
  • Attend design team meetings, pre-start meetings, and site visits to provide technical support.
  • Manage projects through specification, design, construction, and technical handover.
  • Resolve technical queries during installation and provide practical site-based solutions.
  • Maintain and develop standard CAD details and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all designs comply with PAS 2030/2035, Building Regulations, and company system approvals.

Other Duties

  • Maintain and update standard CAD details, technical literature, and specification templates for façade and EWI systems.
  • Support the continuous development and improvement of technical processes, documentation, and system details.
  • Liaise closely with Technical, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Assist with technical training and product presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders where required.
  • Contribute to the development of new façade and EWI system solutions in line with changing regulations and market requirements.
  • Keep up to date with Building Regulations, British Standards, PAS 2030/2035, and industry best practice.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably required by the Head of Design.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience within External Wall Insulation (EWI), façades, cladding, or building envelope design.
  • Good understanding of Building Regulations, thermal performance, and façade detailing.
  • Experience producing AutoCAD drawings and technical construction details.
  • Knowledge of U-value calculations and thermal bridging principles.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (if site visits are required).

Key Attributes

  • Strong technical understanding of External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems, façade construction, and building technology.
  • Knowledge of Soltherm systems would be advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical compliance with practical construction solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Professional approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with relevant Building Regulations and industry standards.
