Overview of the Role
Our assets are so much more than bricks and mortar, they are our doorway into the Bothwell community. In this role you will be expected to seek out opportunities to adapt our spaces to encourage greater community usage and generate additional income. This dual-focused role combines facilities management and events coordination. No two days will be the same so willingness to be flexible and evolve the role over time is key.
Your Responsibilities - Operations & Facilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the Community Hub and Community Hall.
- Maintain building security, including acting as a Bothwell Futures key holder, complying with opening/closing procedures and coordinating emergency callouts.
- Manage inventory of office supplies, cleaning materials and other relevant resources.
- Supervise on site contractors, ensuring work is completed to specification.
- Monitor cleaning, safety, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and best-practice Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain and monitor routine inspection schedules for plant, fire safety equipment, mechanical and electrical systems (including PAT testing).

Your Responsibilities - Events
- Handle venue hire enquiries and manage the booking diary.
- Promote upcoming events via local notice boards, web sites and social media channels
- Prepare room layouts to suit customer requirements and coordinate access/ welcome arrangements for those hiring our spaces.
- Working closely with Bothwell Futures’ staff and Trustees, design and schedule a diverse calendar of seasonal activities and functions.

- Maintain excellent working relationships with Bothwell Futures staff, volunteers, tenants and hirers.
- Build positive relationships with the wider community, including residents, clubs and business partners.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for visitors.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, aligned with hire times.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Ability to maximise commercial value from owned assets
- Assessing asset risks and taking preventative actions.
- Caretaking/ site management.
- Working with volunteers.
