📣 WE’RE RECRUITING! Facilities and Cleaning Officer
Woodhouse and District Community Forum is looking for a reliable, practical and professional person to help care for Woodhouse Community Hub and Library.
This is a varied, hands-on role helping to ensure our busy community building remains clean, safe, welcoming and ready for everyone who uses it.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Act as a registered key holder
- Open and securely close the building
- Carry out routine cleaning and monthly deep-cleaning duties
- Prepare rooms for community groups, meetings, presentations, activities and events
- Support external room hires and business meetings
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks
- Respond promptly and professionally to cleaning and repair requests
- Clear non-toxic spills and safely remove damaged furniture
- Assist visitors and users of the building when required
- Work closely with Hub staff and volunteers
- Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for everyone

About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is dependable, responsible and professional
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming community building
- Can work independently and use their own initiative
- Has good verbal and written communication skills
- Can respond calmly and appropriately to unexpected issues
- Is available to work evenings and some weekends
- Is physically able to move furniture and lift items weighing up to approximately 23kg/50lb
- Previous experience in cleaning, caretaking, facilities management or building maintenance would be helpful, but it is not essential for the right person.

Location, Hours, and Contract
Location: Woodhouse Community Hub and Library
Hours: 12.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 4th October 2026
