Atlas Workplace Services is seeking a proactive Facilities Assistant to join our team in Oxford. Based at a leading science and laboratory facility, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the site, helping to ensure colleagues have the services, equipment, and support they need to perform at their best.
From porterage and stores duties to laboratory support and general maintenance tasks, this is a varied role that's ideal for someone who thrives in a team environment, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys making a real difference every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing a professional and responsive customer service to site users
- Managing porterage duties, including the collection and delivery of parcels, packages, and goods across the site
- Completing and maintaining documentation in line with site procedures and compliance requirements
- Responding to reactive work requests using mobile CAFM systems
- Carrying out general maintenance tasks, minor repairs, painting, decorating, and other building support activities
- Supporting laboratory operations, including the movement and cleaning of glassware
- Providing laundry services, including the collection and distribution of laboratory coats
- Assisting with meeting room and conference space set-ups, furniture moves, and event requirements
- Supporting site waste management processes and ensuring correct disposal procedures are followed
- Monitoring stock levels and arranging replenishment requests when required
- Reporting maintenance issues and repairs through the appropriate channels
- Supporting the wider Facilities and Engineering teams as required
- Taking ownership of your work to consistently deliver exceptional service standards

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a busy, customer-focused environment and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service. You'll be a team player with a proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to get involved in a wide variety of tasks across the site.
Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a facilities, property maintenance, building services, or workplace services environment
- Experience supporting the delivery of multiple services within a busy operational site
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other modern workplace software
- Experience using CAFM or work management systems, such as Planon, on tablets or mobile devices
- Understanding of compliance requirements and safe systems of work
- Experience working within highly regulated or permit-controlled environments where Health & Safety standards are essential
- Able to prioritise workloads, respond to changing demands, and maintain high service standards
- A flexible, positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
