Facilities / Handyman Assistant
Temporary Position
£15.00 per hour

Are you a hands-on, reliable individual looking for flexible temporary work? We are recruiting a Temporary Facilities / Handyman Assistant to provide holiday cover for a prestigious global IT company based in the heart of the city. This is a great opportunity for someone with facilities, maintenance, building services, or handyman experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in ensuring a safe and well-maintained workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out weekly RCD checks.
- Complete lighting inspections, including fittings and switches.
- Check TMVs (Thermostatic Mixing Valves).
- Flush unused water outlets.
- Conduct general workplace safety inspections.
- Inspect staircases, handrails, and walkways for any hazards.
- Ensure all health and safety signage is visible and in good condition.
- Identify and report trip hazards, including loose cables and uneven flooring.
- Perform external building checks, including windows, doors, and drainage.
- Carry out weekly fire alarm tests.
- Report any maintenance issues promptly to the relevant team.

About You:
- Previous facilities, maintenance, caretaking, or handyman experience.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable carrying out routine compliance and safety checks.
