Permanent Facilities Assistant - Central London
The salary is £ 30,250.08
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 Hour per week
Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities working on Distribution services to provide professional, efficient, and secure portering and distribution services to all users of MoD Whitehall Group Buildings.
What you will do:
- Undertake Help Desk instructions in line with priorities to ensure completion within stated timescales and immediate feedback to supervisors on completion.
- Accept, receipt and check deliveries following off-loading by the goods inwards team.
- Ensure that following receipt all goods are sorted, delivered or collected in a timely manner to customers in accordance with service level agreements, and ensure that customers sign for all goods received.
- Sort incoming post and deliver to mail points; collect and process outgoing mail in line with agreed SLAs.
- Sort, manifest, and dispatch Royal Mail & MOD Establishment signature post, including items up to Top Secret classification; prepare and dispatch security pouches.
- Assist the Churn team with moves, furniture, crates and other equipment as requested.
- Stock break-out areas on all floors with the appropriate levels of toners and paper.
- Maintain breakout areas with appropriate stock levels; deliver specific consumables directly to desks following Helpdesk calls.
- Carry out flag tasks as required, this will include general maintenance, half-masting and raising in line with government requests.
- Attend to conference set up/take down as per instructions received by Amey’s Conference team. Plus carry out checks of the equipment and furniture for any damage and report to line manager for repair or potential replacement.
- Ensure that water dispensers are supplied, replenished and drip trays are emptied, and dispensers are cleaned daily.
- Utilise Concept to be able to log, retrieve, update and sign off tasks assigned.
- Record the number of items delivered of all goods daily.
- Record daily counts of delivered goods and dispatched mail/packages.
- Ensure that all security regulations are complied with. For example, access to secure areas and escorting people on red passes.
- Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in respect of H&S legislation including the completion of WorkRite, and local toolbox talks.
- Escort red pass holders upon request.
- Ensure all Amey policies and procedures are complied with.
- Understand and comply with all Emergency Procedures.
- Understand and comply with all risk assessments carried out.
- Collaborates with colleagues across departments to develop innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Any other duties as required.

- Excellent customer service skills and able to work in a shift pattern between 08:00 – 18:00 and occasional overtime if required.
- Team player, being able to work willingly and effectively on your own or within a team to achieve objectives.
