Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Location: Lynn Grove Academy, Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk

Salary: Scale D, point 6, £25,989

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours, 52 weeks. 06:45 - 14:45 with a 30 min lunch break, and a 14:15 finish on a Friday

About You:

Lynn Grove Academy are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will take pride in high standards, demonstrating excellent attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach to their work. From supporting daily site operations to helping ensure our buildings and grounds are secure, functional, and welcoming, this role plays a key part in the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Good English and Maths skills, preferably to GCSE Grade 3 minimum or equivalent
  • Experience working in a maintenance environment
  • Basic ICT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to cope with a diverse range of duties and responsibilities, some of which will require non-standard attendance patterns

About the Estates and Facilities Team:

The Estates and Facilities team is dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and welcoming environments where students and staff can thrive. The team is responsible for the upkeep and presentation of the school site, including planned and preventative maintenance, day-to-day caretaking activities, and the coordination of essential services that support the smooth running of the academy.

Working closely with school leadership, external contractors, and colleagues across the Academy, the team plays a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety, compliance, and site security.
