Facilities Caretaker
Are you a practical, hands-on individual with experience in facilities maintenance? Do you take pride in keeping spaces safe, secure and well-maintained? Oxford PharmaGenesis has a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Caretaker at our office in Oxfordshire.
About the Role
As a Facilities Caretaker, you will help to ensure that our office buildings are safe, secure, well maintained, and ready for colleagues and visitors each day. This will include:
- Opening and preparing buildings at the start of the working day
- Carrying out regular site inspections
- Reporting any maintenance, safety or security concerns
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of office facilities and communal areas
In this varied role, you’ll undertake:
- Routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Liaising with external contractors and suppliers
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance of buildings, fixtures and equipment
You will support:
- Health, safety and compliance activities
- Office and building services
- Grounds and housekeeping, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, fire safety inspections, and portable appliance testing (once trained)

- Set up meeting rooms, training spaces, and event areas
- Support the Office Coordinator during busy periods
- Oversee supplier deliveries
- Complete postal runs
- Carry out general site support activities, including watering plants and walkarounds of shared spaces
Some heavy lifting and occasional travel to other offices will be required.
Working Hours
- 30 hours per week, ideally 07:30–14:30; however, these hours are somewhat flexible.
Requirements
- A personal vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid).
