Facilities Caretaker

Are you a practical, hands-on individual with experience in facilities maintenance? Do you take pride in keeping spaces safe, secure and well-maintained? Oxford PharmaGenesis has a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Caretaker at our office in Oxfordshire.

About the Role

As a Facilities Caretaker, you will help to ensure that our office buildings are safe, secure, well maintained, and ready for colleagues and visitors each day. This will include:

  • Opening and preparing buildings at the start of the working day
  • Carrying out regular site inspections
  • Reporting any maintenance, safety or security concerns
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of office facilities and communal areas

In this varied role, you’ll undertake:

  • Routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Liaising with external contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance of buildings, fixtures and equipment

You will support:

  • Health, safety and compliance activities
  • Office and building services
  • Grounds and housekeeping, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, fire safety inspections, and portable appliance testing (once trained)

  • Set up meeting rooms, training spaces, and event areas
  • Support the Office Coordinator during busy periods
  • Oversee supplier deliveries
  • Complete postal runs
  • Carry out general site support activities, including watering plants and walkarounds of shared spaces

Some heavy lifting and occasional travel to other offices will be required.

Working Hours

  • 30 hours per week, ideally 07:30–14:30; however, these hours are somewhat flexible.

Requirements

  • A personal vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid).
