Facilities Cleaner
Grade A £25,948 pro rata

Council employees and our partners work across various sites across the City. The team is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of these sites. Our cleaning team works to the highest standards to ensure that our buildings are clean, secure, and safe for our staff and partners, and everyone plays an important part in making this happen.
Responsibilities
As a Facilities Cleaner, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
- Mopping
- Toilet cleaning
- Washing walls/glass
- Vacuuming
- Emptying bins
- Dusting
You may be required to open and close buildings depending on the site you are working. You will also be expected to report and escalate building defects to enable a resolution to be found. This role will be physically challenging and involves manual handling activities.

Working Hours and Locations
Our cleaning team operates in 46 sites across the City, working various shift patterns, primarily morning or evening shifts, Monday to Saturday. We have the following vacancies:
Council House, Armada Way, Plymouth, PL1
- One position for 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday 08.00 to 10.00
The Box, Tavistock Place, Plymouth, Devon PL4
- One position for 14 hours per week, Monday to Saturday 08.00 to 10.00 and Saturday 16.00 to 18.00
Ballard House, West Hoe Road, Plymouth, Devon PL1
- Two positions for 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday 17:00 to 19:00
You will be allocated a primary location but will be expected to work across alternative sites when required. This will be discussed at the interview.
