Do you have experience working within facilities, office support, office-based customer services, or reception? Are you highly organised, proactive, and happiest in a varied role where no two days are quite the same? Do you enjoy taking ownership and making sure everything around you runs exactly as it should?
We have the job for you!
At Simplify, the Facilities Co-ordinator is all about helping to keep our Leicester HQ running safely, smoothly and efficiently.
Working as part of the friendly and supportive Facilities division, you'll take responsibility for a varied range of activities across the site. One minute you could be carrying out routine checks and inspections, the next arranging a repair with one of our contractors, replenishing supplies, setting up a meeting room, or welcoming visitors into reception.
You'll help us maintain high Health & Safety standards, conducting regular inspections and assessments, keeping accurate records and ensuring our safety equipment and systems are maintained and in good working order.
You'll also work closely with contractors and service providers, coordinating repairs, scheduled maintenance and inspections, as well as helping to resolve minor facilities issues and escalating anything requiring specialist attention.
Alongside the practical elements of the role, the Facilities Co-ordinator provides general administrative and reception support, manages facilities mailboxes and records, arranges meeting rooms and catering, distributes post and deliveries, and help us maintain a professional, welcoming and secure environment for everyone using our Leicester HQ.
You'll be happiest when you're busy and will enjoy having plenty of different things to keep on top of. You'll be organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively, with the confidence to build great working relationships with colleagues, contractors and suppliers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Health & Safety forms an important part of the role. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and qualifications or training such as IOSH, NEBOSH, First Aid, Fire Marshal or similar would be advantageous, as would previous experience with DSE risk assessments or Facilities Management, however a candidate without these expertise who nevertheless demonstrates genuine interest in starting a career within Facilities or Health & Safety, and has the right attitude, is the most important consideration for us.
You'll have good IT skills, including proficiency across the full Microsoft Office suite, and be comfortable maintaining accurate records, managing emails and keeping on top of scheduled activities.
Just as importantly, you'll be approachable and professional. You'll regularly interact with colleagues, visitors, clients, contractors and suppliers, so you'll need to be personable and friendly, yet professional, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative, helpful approach.
This is ultimately a role for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in creating a safe, organised, welcoming, and well-run working environment.
