Position Overview

A skilled and proactive Facilities Engineer to oversee the operational integrity, safety, and efficiency of our site infrastructure. You will manage critical facility systems, ensuring continuous operation and compliance with rigorous industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contractor Control: Manage and oversee third-party contractors across all specialised engineering disciplines.
  • Project Work: Scope, plan, and execute facilities projects involving infrastructure upgrades, system installations, and equipment replacements across all facility areas.
  • Permit to Work: Issue and manage strict Permit to Work (PTW) documentation for high-risk maintenance, including Confined spaces.
  • Chillers & Water Systems: Maintain system controls and water quality of facility chillers and industrial water pipework systems.
  • High-Pressure Compressors: Oversee 40, 10, and 8 bar compressed air systems and all associated pneumatic pipework.
  • Site Maintenance: Perform and supervise general site maintenance and building repairs.
  • HV & PAT Safety: Manage high-voltage maintenance contractors and coordinate routine Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
  • Cleanroom & HVAC Integrity: Maintaining certified cleanrooms, air handling units, and environmental controls, fault finding as and when needed.
  • BMS Monitoring: Monitor building management systems to optimize energy usage and respond to alarms.
  • Pest Control Oversight: Manage pest control to maintain strict hygiene standards across the facility.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes following any quality issues linked to facilities
  • Audit Documentation: Prepare, update, and manage all facility compliance records for internal and external audits.
  • PPM Schedules: Develop, implement, and track Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes via Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Site Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for external CHP manufacturers
  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Maintain comprehensive records and process controls to align with quality management audits.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years working as a facilities or maintenance engineer.
  • Strong electrical / controls background preferably time served.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Strong fault-finding experience using technical drawings, software diagnostics, and testing equipment.
  • Contractor Management: Proven experience controlling specialized mechanical and electrical engineering contractors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of 40/10/8 bar compressor networks, chillers, and industrial pipework.
  • Electrical Compliance: Strong background in electrical inspection, testing protocols, and PAT regulations.
  • Audit Readiness: Proven track record of managing technical documentation for rigorous regulatory and internal compliance checks.
  • Quality Standards: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 documentation and compliance procedures.
