THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in Witney, we have an opportunity for a Facilities Support Engineer to join our site Facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the service, upkeep, and general maintenance of a wide range of building systems, equipment, and supporting infrastructure across the facility. Your work will help ensure that all manufacturing and support areas remain operational, safe, and compliant, with equipment maintained to required performance standards. You will be required to work unsupervised and complete all work tasks in a timely manner, working safely with specific precoders for tasks and documenting all work carried out on an electronic PC-based maintenance reporting system. You may also be required to attend site outside normal working hours as part of an emergency call-out rota.

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful you will have served a recognised apprenticeship within the building services industry and hold the relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or National Diploma qualifications. You will bring a breadth of experience with a good knowledge of all building services, mechanical systems, and electrical systems. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, highly organized, and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interactive on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

ABOUT OUR DIABETES CARE DIVISION:

World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott’s Diabetes Care business designs, develops, and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The Witney site has been instrumental in the research, development, and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3, and the Libre Sense system. The FreeStyle Libre systems are now used by over 5 million people around the world. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.
