Facilities & Events Consultant

Starting Salary: £26,500

Location: Birmingham Head Office

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

At TeacherActive, the experience our people have at work matters. From walking into a well-run office, to attending a company event where everything has been thought through, there is a huge amount happening behind the scenes to make that experience possible.

We're looking for a Facilities & Events Consultant to help us make it happen.

This is a varied role for someone who is organised, adaptable, service-driven, and brilliant with detail. You'll work across facilities, property, Health & Safety, events, and office operations, interacting with people from across the business and taking real ownership of the experience we create at our Head Office.

One day you might be coordinating a maintenance issue or completing an office inspection. The next, you could be researching venues for an event, supporting a new office set-up, arranging accommodation, or helping organise one of our biggest company events.

You'll need to enjoy variety — and be comfortable when several things are happening at once.

What you'll be doing

  • Work closely with our Facilities & Events Manager to help keep our offices running smoothly and ensure our people have a great environment in which to work.
  • Take ownership of the Head Office experience. Notice when something isn't quite right, take action, and look for ways we can continually improve the space and service we provide.
  • Coordinate maintenance, office supplies, equipment, and accommodation bookings, as well as supporting new office openings and moves across TeacherActive.
  • Be involved in our Health & Safety activity, helping us coordinate DSE assessments, First Aid and Fire Warden training, office audits, and maintenance requirements.
  • Support everything from team and individual milestone events through to major TeacherActive events such as our AGM and Winter Ball. Research venues, manage bookings, work with suppliers, keep track of costs, and make sure all of the important details are taken care of.
  • Ask “How could we do this better?” Finding a better venue, negotiating a better rate, spotting a maintenance issue before anybody reports it, or suggesting an idea that makes an event more memorable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within facilities, property, office management, or workplace operations would be particularly valuable, as would experience sourcing venues or coordinating events.

You'll also need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same.

Why this role?

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more ownership than a traditional office administration role.

You'll have exposure to property, facilities, Health & Safety, and events, while working with teams from across TeacherActive.

Most importantly, you'll have a genuine opportunity to influence how our Head Office feels, how our events are experienced, and how smoothly our workplaces operate.
