About the Role

Cormac are looking to recruit for an Facilities Maintenance Assistant to perform maintenance and other manual tasks, often as part of a team, utilising specialised skills to support the delivery of Cormac operational activities. When assigned to carry out both internal and external fabric maintenance, making informed decisions to ensure the safe and timely completion of improvement and maintenance services for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and improvement tasks throughout the Cormac property portfolio.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures, promoting safety among coworkers, and reporting any unsafe practices.
  • Accurately complete, record, and submit all necessary documentation, including timesheets, job sheets, and material usage reports.
  • Properly use PDA hand-held devices to record and submit electronic job orders, time logs, material consumption, variations, and job completions with appropriate sign-offs.
  • Ensure all material order requests are accurate and submitted promptly to the Facilities Management team.
  • Carry out all tasks efficiently and cost-effectively, minimizing downtime, and promptly reporting any issues or delays to your line manager.

About you

Candidates will need to have;

  • NVQ Level 2 to 4 in a core trade
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Good communication skills (written, spoken and electronic)
  • Ability to identify problems with clients, subcontractors and third parties and to seek a resolution.
  • Full driving licence

Our offer to you

Salary: £25,948 - £28,089

Working Hours: 37

Base: Western Group Centre, Radnor Road, Scorrier, Redruth, Cornwall, TR16 5EH
