The role
As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you'll provide operational facilities maintenance support across the site, ensuring buildings, equipment, and infrastructure remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. This varied role offers the chance to combine electrical and facilities maintenance expertise while contributing to a business that helps support national defence and security.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities across site facilities and equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns, fault-finding issues, and ensuring systems are made safe and restored efficiently.
- Maintain tools, equipment, site assets, grounds, and housekeeping standards.
- Support contractors and stakeholders by coordinating activities and providing safe site access.
- Update maintenance records while following Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and identifying improvement opportunities.

This role is full time, 39 hours per week and is based at Walsall. Set working times are Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday, 7:00am to 12:00pm, with flexibility available.
Essential experience of the Facilities Maintenance Engineer
- Previous facilities maintenance experience.
- Electrical maintenance experience.
- Basic Health and Safety awareness.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability.
- Good IT skills and willingness to learn business systems.
Qualifications for the Facilities Maintenance Engineer
- 18th Edition Qualified (C&G 2382-22) (desirable)
- Test and Inspection Qualified (C&G 2391) (desirable)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) security clearance for this role.
