Facilities Technician
Location: Wolverhampton, WV4 6FB (On-site, 5 days per week)
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum + benefits

It's a hands-on, people-facing role that blends practical maintenance with smart coordination. No two days are the same — one moment you're carrying out safety checks and PAT testing, the next you're setting up for an important meeting, solving a maintenance issue, or working with contractors to keep everything ship-shape. Your work will directly shape the environment where our teams design products that protect people all over the world.

What you'll be doing
- Carry out regular PAT testing on electrical equipment, keeping accurate records and arranging repairs or replacements
- Conduct daily building inspections and tackle minor maintenance — lighting, basic plumbing, and general wear and tear
- Manage waste and recycling, including coordinating commercial collections and correct waste segregation
- Keep common areas, washrooms, and welfare facilities clean, stocked, and welcoming, liaising with cleaning contractors
- Support health and safety compliance — routine safety checks, fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, and first aid provisions
- Coordinate external contractors for specialist work, obtaining quotes and supervising jobs with minimal disruption
- Handle space management — setting up meeting rooms, furniture moves, and office layout changes
- Respond to staff requests, prioritising and resolving issues efficiently
- Support site security, making sure gates, doors, and windows are secure
- Champion environmental initiatives by monitoring utility usage and reducing waste
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation for audits and inspections
What you'll bring
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, or an equivalent practical qualification
- PAT testing certification (City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent)
- Basic health and safety awareness training
- 1–3 years' experience in a facilities, maintenance, or building services role
- A full driving licence
- Practical maintenance skills across basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Strong organisation, clear communication, and good computer literacy for record-keeping
- Physical fitness for manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and time on your feet
- A flexible, hands-on approach and a real willingness to tackle varied tasks

Nice to have
- IOSH Working Safely or a similar health and safety qualification
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
- A first aid qualification
