Facilities Management Monitoring Officer
Join Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as a Facilities Management Monitoring Officer and play a key role in ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant facilities services are delivered across our hospitals and community sites. Working within the Property Services team, you will monitor and audit a wide range of in-house and contracted services, including cleaning, catering, waste management, portering, accommodation, maintenance, and other facilities functions, helping to ensure services meet agreed standards, legislation, KPIs, and service specifications.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in audit, compliance, facilities, estates, or operational service monitoring, with strong organisational and analytical skills. You will have a confident understanding of healthcare standards for facilities management services.
You will be confident managing multiple priorities, producing clear reports, and working independently across a range of locations as part of a Trust-wide service focused on delivering an excellent environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, clinical teams, and service users. You will undertake inspections and audits, analyse performance data, produce reports, support service improvement initiatives, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive quality and compliance across Trust sites.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
