An innovative and rapidly growing technology organisation is seeking a Facilities Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day management of its facilities and engineering operations. Operating within a highly technical and fast-paced environment, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional to play a key role in supporting business growth, compliance, asset management, and workplace services.

Your New Role

As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of hard and soft FM services across a specialist operational environment. You will ensure the building infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard whilst driving compliance, contractor management, health and safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day facilities operations across the site.
  • Taking ownership of hard services delivery, including M&E systems and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Overseeing statutory compliance, health & safety, and building-related audits.
  • Managing service contracts and external suppliers to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Supporting capital projects, refurbishments, and workplace improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring facilities budgets and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Ensuring building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Driving a proactive maintenance culture and continuous improvement across the estate.

This position is for 3 months temporary if not longer, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff. Full-time hours - Monday to Friday, candidates may be required to work on call, which is paid at an additional rate of pay.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on and proactive facilities professional who is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and taking full ownership of your remit.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, Engineering Manager, Technical Services Manager, or similar position.
  • A strong hard services background.
  • An electrical or mechanical engineering qualification/background.
  • Experience managing M&E systems, contractors, and compliance programmes.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and drive improvements.
  • The confidence to come into a role, take ownership, and make a positive impact from day one.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation and facilities compliance requirements.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM, or relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous.
