Facilities Manager
Are you an experienced facilities professional with strong site management, maintenance, and team leadership skills? This is a great opportunity to take responsibility for the safe and effective operation of a busy school site, coordinating maintenance, contractors, compliance, and facilities services while helping to create a welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

This role is known internally as a Senior Premises Officer.
SALARY:
£27,526 - £29,145 FTE per annum (£13,763 - £14,572 Actual Annual Salary 0.5FTE) + Benefits
LOCATION:
Bristol, South West England
JOB TYPE:
Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS:
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 6:00pm, all year round
JOB OVERVIEW
This is an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Manager to take a lead role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-managed school environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The Facilities Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the site, supporting premises and cleaning staff while coordinating maintenance, contractors, and essential facilities services. You will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure repairs, planned maintenance, and improvements are completed efficiently and effectively.
As Facilities Manager, you will also contribute to health and safety, site security, procurement, lettings, budgets, and capital projects, helping ensure the school is prepared for its operational needs. This is an opportunity to use your practical knowledge and leadership skills to make a visible difference within a growing multi-academy trust.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Facilities Manager include:
- Site Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the operation, maintenance, security, and safety of the site, ensuring facilities remain clean, well maintained, and fit for purpose.
- Team and Contractor Leadership: Lead and support premises, cleaning, and caretaking staff and coordinate contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Plan and monitor maintenance schedules, repairs, and improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance the school environment.
- Budgets and Procurement: Support facilities budgets, obtain quotations, and order essential supplies and consumables.
- Capital Projects: Contribute to facilities improvements and capital works, coordinating activity with relevant colleagues and contractors.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Support health and safety, statutory compliance, site security, and the wider operational requirements of the school.
- Lettings and Site Support: Help coordinate lettings and ensure facilities are prepared for approved activities and day-to-day use.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a facilities management role.
- Experience managing and supporting a team, including cleaners and caretakers.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Practical and organised approach to maintenance, contractors, and site operations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
