Hays are recruiting on behalf of an innovative organisation in Bristol seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support a critical site relocation and operational transition project. This is an excellent opportunity for facilities professional with experience managing complex environments, ideally within laboratory, research, scientific, technology, engineering or innovation-led organisations.

Your new role

As Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of a major facilities relocation project while ensuring the continued safe and effective operation of existing facilities throughout the transition. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers, you will coordinate all aspects of the move, ensuring business continuity, compliance and minimal disruption to operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a significant site relocation project from planning through to completion.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and specialist service providers.
  • Oversee facilities operations across office, laboratory and technical environments.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, workplace regulations and operational procedures.
  • Manage facilities budgets, procurement and contractor performance.
  • Support asset tracking, equipment moves and workspace planning.
  • Maintain operational continuity throughout the relocation process.
  • Develop and implement facilities procedures and best practices.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all facilities-related matters during the project.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience within a Facilities Management role.
  • Previous experience delivering office, laboratory, research, technical or operational relocations.
  • Strong contractor and supplier management experience.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, compliance and building operations.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, scientific, education or commercial property environments
