About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Facilities Manager (Hard Services) to lead the delivery of hard facilities management services across Plymouth City Council’s diverse and strategically important property portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management across engineering, building surveying, statutory compliance, building management and property helpdesk functions.

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary Hard FM teams.
  • Deliver the Council’s Hard FM Strategy and support the Corporate Landlord Model.
  • Oversee maintenance programmes, asset planning and statutory compliance activities.
  • Manage significant service, staffing and property-related budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and customer-focused service delivery.

You will be a strategic and influential leader with significant experience in facilities, property, engineering or asset management.

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional membership of, or eligibility to join, a relevant professional body such as IWFM.
  • Strong knowledge of property management, statutory compliance and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience of leading teams and services at a senior level.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and financial management skills.
