Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am to 16:00pm - 35 hours per week

Location: 3 Kingsland Grange, Woolston, Warrington, WA1 4RW

Full time, permanent role

Job purpose

The Facilities Manager is responsible (in conjunction with the Head of Facilities Management) with the effective management of the site and surrounding satellite sites regarding Facilities and Health & Safety compliance. The facilities manager will support with coordination, support and advice on all aspects concerning facilities and Health and Safety.

Main responsibilities

The Facilities Manager will manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training requirements, systems, planned preventative maintenance and compliance inspections to ensure all responsibilities associated with Facilities and Health & Safety within Vaultex are adhered to.

Leadership

  • Liaise with Site Manager and Head of Facilities Management to ensure that Facility and Health & Safety resources are in place so that business needs are met
  • Be the ‘Go to’ person for Facilities and Health & Safety matters
  • Manage training needs regarding the Centre`s Facilities and Health & Safety requirements
  • Manage relevant project works where required with support from the Head of Facilities Management or their deputy

Facilities

  • Collate required library of all Facilities compliance documents, with particular attention to the Site Responsible Person Compliance Planner. This will be the go-to document for all record areas
  • Ensure that planned preventative maintenance and all scheduled works are carried out as per requirements
  • Ensure that all reactive maintenance issues are escalated to the appropriate supplier and where appropriate to the Head of Facilities Management or their deputy
  • Ensure that all potential additional works are logged & escalated to the Head of Facilities Management or their deputy for budget allocation and planning
  • Support & manage site additional works as required and directed by the Head of Facilities Management or their deputy

Health & Safety

  • Encourage a positive Health & Safety culture within the Centre
  • Implement and monitor Vaultex Health and Safety Policy & procedures
  • Investigate and report on workplace personal accidents and near misses; and maintain accurate record of all site incidents (incident statistics)
  • Ensure sites comply with current safety legislation with support from the H&S team
  • Liaise with Vaultex Health & Safety Manager on any H&S issues
  • Complete local site inspections and ensure accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation
  • Ensure that quarterly H&S committee meetings take place in the prescribed month and have appropriate representation
  • Collate required library of site assurance documentation
  • Ensure site compliance for Insurance inspections, co-ordinating, inspection and testing visits
  • Support the annual FRA and SSE inspections
  • Review risk assessments as required

Miscellaneous

  • Commit to the development and growth of a positive risk management culture
  • Ensure that waste management processes are carried out effectively and within guidelines/procedures
  • Be responsible for the overall site, tidiness, cleanliness & state of repair ensuring advising the Head of Facilities Management or their deputy of any remedial work required
  • Conduct the annual Powerdown and generator test as per Vaultex procedures

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • IOSSH Qualification - Essential (preferred for internal candidates)
  • Proven experience of operating within a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) environment
  • Strong people management skills, together with excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Proven IT skills with a working knowledge of a range of MS Office applications as well as knowledge of electronic security systems
  • Able to demonstrate good judgment, ability to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents
