Facilities Manager - Exeter
Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance across a portfolio of schools in Exeter. You will focus on the effective delivery of hard FM services, ensuring all sites remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. The successful candidate will take full ownership of service issues, providing prompt, practical solutions and maintaining strong relationships with school stakeholders.
About Our Total Facilities Management Team
Our Total Facilities Management team delivers integrated asset management and maintenance services across education, leisure, corporate, health, and residential sectors. We focus on keeping facilities running smoothly, safely, and efficiently – helping our clients create spaces that work for everyone.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Strong experience in managing facilities or hard services in a multi-site environment, preferably within PFI contracts or the education sector.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe systems of work are followed and demonstrate a commitment to behavioural safety and an accident-free culture.
- HR Management: Manage HR related business for your team, including performance management, training, and development.
- Financial Management: Financial responsibility for contracted works, monitoring and reporting variations.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular open docket reviews to minimize penalty deductions and ensure timely closure of open jobs.

Responsibilities
- Provide induction training to all new starters and make available any PPE/Uniform requirements.
- Provide direct line management and leadership to the Caretaking team.
- Ensure performance issues are managed in a prompt and effective manner.
- Promote near miss reporting and embrace an accident-free culture.
- Manage HR related business for your team, including producing working rotas, managing annual leave requests, non-attendance, return to work interviews, and disciplinary procedures.
- Monitor/audit sites to review standards and performance.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are provided for all contractor activities on your sites, where required ensure the correct issue of work permits.
- Carry out a weekly review of completed PPM documents, sign them off if complete, if incomplete, arrange for the PPM to be corrected with your team, and upload to SharePoint.
