The Opportunity
WPS is seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to join our Facilities Management team supporting our valued client, QinetiQ.
This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service, maintaining high compliance standards, and driving continuous improvement across a diverse facilities portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment while building strong relationships with both the client and service partners.
About The Role
As Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of the effective management, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement of all facilities-related activities across the contract. Acting as the key point of contact for facilities services, you will ensure operational excellence, contractual compliance, and outstanding customer satisfaction.
Working closely with stakeholders, contractors, and service providers, you will drive service improvements, maximise operational efficiency, and ensure facilities services are delivered in line with client expectations and contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional working environment.
- Ensure the effective management, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement of all facilities-related activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all compliance-related activities.
- Provide dedicated management of facilities services in accordance with contractual obligations and client expectations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for facilities-related issues, enquiries, and escalations.
- Manage service providers and contractors to achieve agreed service levels, performance standards, and compliance requirements.
- Strengthen client confidence through effective governance, reporting, and performance management.
- Deliver a responsive and proactive approach to resolving facilities issues and operational challenges.
- Manage facilities budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies.
- Drive efficiency initiatives relating to energy management, maintenance planning, sustainability, and asset management.
- Ensure value for money through effective supplier management, contract oversight, and procurement practices.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve service delivery, customer experience, and operational performance.

About You
We are looking for a customer-focused Facilities Manager with a proven track record of managing facilities services within a complex operational environment.

You Will Ideally Have
- Previous experience in a Facilities Manager or similar FM leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of facilities management, compliance, health and safety, and contractor management.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and service contracts.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Experience driving service improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to facilities management.
