Allerton Waste Recovery Park

Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-time | Site-based

Are you an experienced Facilities Manager who takes pride in creating safe, well-maintained, and compliant working environments?

We're looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our team at Allerton Waste Recovery Park, where you'll play a key role in ensuring our facilities, infrastructure and support services operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Working closely with our Operations and Maintenance teams, you'll oversee the management of site facilities, contractors, compliance activities and small improvement projects, helping to keep one of the UK's leading waste recovery facilities running smoothly.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the day-to-day facilities operation across the site, ensuring buildings, grounds and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities and ensure maintenance records remain accurate and up to date within our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Manage service contracts including cleaning, pest control, waste collection, PPE and other site support services.
  • Take ownership of site assets including access control systems, two-way radios, gas monitors, respiratory protective equipment (RPE), lockers and security passes.
  • Ensure statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed, including Legionella management, surface water sampling, weather station inspections and site meter monitoring.
  • Oversee site security systems including CCTV, fire alarms, automatic gates, intruder alarms and visitor centre facilities.
  • Lead and coordinate reactive facilities tasks and deliver small improvement projects outside the scope of the maintenance team.
  • Monitor the condition of buildings, structures, handrails, walkways, cladding and external areas, ensuring timely repairs where required.
  • Promote excellent housekeeping standards across the site while supporting Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance.
  • Work safely in accordance with company procedures and actively report hazards, near misses and unsafe conditions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our Business

At Thalia Waste Management, we are creating a future to be proud of. We think differently, questioning everything, enabling us to develop progressive waste into energy solutions and services. Being motivated, tackling problems together, inspiring others to take responsibility, making a difference, being ambitious and contributing value.

We operate the best technology available across our four strategic sites in North Yorkshire, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Wight. Our technology includes everything from mechanical and biological treatment, traditional mass-burn energy from waste and material recycling technologies to in-vessel composting, advanced thermal treatment, innovative small-scale energy from waste and anaerobic digestion. In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
