Facilities Manager (Part time)
Salary: £34,068 per annum plus company benefits
Location: Bath, BA1 1RG
Contract: 9 month Fixed Term Contract, Part Time
Shifts: 22.5 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 9.00am to 5.30pm, with 1 hour unpaid lunch break (open to other work patterns)
Work Model: Hybrid including travel to other sites
Williams Lea seeks a Facilities Manager to join our team!

Purpose of role
The Facilities & Health & Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective, compliant, and efficient management of all office facilities across the firm’s portfolio. This includes overseeing health and safety compliance, Project management for premises and facilities related projects, managing supplier relationships, ensuring workplace standards are maintained, and supporting a safe, high-quality working environment aligned with a professional legal services setting.
The role requires oversight of both serviced offices (with shared responsibilities) and leased premises (with full operational accountability).
The role is a 9 month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. The role is hybrid and will require travel between offices.
Key responsibilities
Facilities Management:
- Manage day-to-day facilities operations across all office locations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for landlords, serviced office providers, and managing agents.
- Ensure all offices are maintained to a high, professional standard consistent with a law firm environment.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, cleaning, security, utilities, and space planning.
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance is carried out in accordance with the PPM schedule across all leased offices.
- Attendance of tenants meetings with managing agents.
- Coordinate office moves, refurbishments, and fit-outs where required.
- Manage access control systems, physical security, and office infrastructure.
- Monitor and control facilities budgets and expenditure.
- Working with the client Premises Group to develop long term strategies for facility upgrades, energy efficiency and improvements.
- Manage budgets for facilities operations, maintenance and capital projects.
- Manage and supervise onsite contractors to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Organize necessary documentation (e.g., work permits) for contractors and staff.
- Oversee security and access passes for building access.

Health and Safety Compliance
- Oversee the firm’s Health & Safety framework, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation.
- Review H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with: Fire safety regulations, Workplace safety standards, First aid requirements, DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessments.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections across all sites.
- Manage accident/incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions.
- Liaise with external H&S consultants where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate training is in place (e.g. fire wardens, first aiders).
- Ensure day-to-day health and safety (H&S) compliance across the sites.
- Support H&S queries and conduct regular H&S audits and assessments.
- Oversee and coordinate Display Screen Equipment (DSE) and workstation assessments for all staff.
- Ensure repairs and remedial work align with H&S standards and relevant permits.
Client and Service Quality:
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards, delivered on time, and meets client expectations.
- Support Facilities-related projects and occasionally travel to other office locations.
- Identify opportunities for service and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with management reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Travel between offices as needed.
- Complete other duties as required by the client or Account Manager.
Key Competencies
- Proven experience in Facilities Management and Health & Safety.
- Proven experience in Project Management.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing leased and/or serviced office environments.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations.
- Proactive and solutions-focused.
- High attention to detail and compliance.
- Organised and great at project planning and coordination.
- Strong problem-solving capability.
- Professional and service-oriented approach.
