We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager (Retail & Property) to oversee health and safety, compliance, and facilities management across our retail stores and office locations. This role is vital to ensuring our business meets all statutory, regulatory, and company requirements while maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient environments for our colleagues and customers.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary advisor on Health and Safety, responsible for implementing robust governance, effective risk management, and continuous improvement across our property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead health and safety and compliance activities across all retail stores and office locations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, including health and safety, fire safety, building compliance, and statutory inspection requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits, inspections, and site visits, ensuring that corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Manage accident, incident, and near-miss reporting, investigations, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain all compliance documentation, certification, and statutory records, ensuring they are current, accessible, and audit-ready.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters, providing advice and guidance to management and store teams.
  • Oversee contractor management processes to ensure that all third-party suppliers operate safely and comply with regulations.
  • Support new store openings, refurbishments, and property projects, ensuring that health and safety and compliance requirements are integrated throughout.
  • Manage facilities budgets and service contracts to ensure operational efficiency and value for money.
  • Ensure operations manuals, policies, and procedures remain compliant, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on key health and safety and compliance KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Drive a positive safety culture through training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities management within a multi-site retail or property environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of contractor management and statutory compliance obligations.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills and experience maintaining compliance records and reporting systems.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
