Altrad are currently recruiting for a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join the team based in Renfrew.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical building services. The role delivers planned preventative and reactive maintenance, manages specialist contractors, supports statutory compliance and projects, and contributes to continuous improvement and asset performance.

Key Deliverables

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and coordinate reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain mechanical and electrical services including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire systems, water services, drainage, BMS, generators, UPS, access control, and associated infrastructure.
  • Monitor asset performance, investigate faults, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage specialist contractors, permits to work, and service delivery against agreed standards.
  • Ensure statutory inspections, certification, and maintenance records remain compliant.
  • Support refurbishment and minor works projects, commissioning, and handover.
  • Maintain CMMS records, asset registers, and engineering documentation.
  • Promote health, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Professional engineering membership and IOSH/NEBOSH are desirable.
  • 3-5 years' experience in facilities management or building services.
  • Experience managing contractors, CMMS systems, and planned/reactive maintenance.
  • Building services engineering, HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, fire systems, water systems, emergency lighting, generators, UPS, pumps, and mechanical plant.
  • Engineering drawings, statutory compliance, and Microsoft Office.
