Facilities Officer
Salary: £20,462.79 (FTE £37,088.80) per year
Location: Office based - Peterborough
Contract: Permanent, part time
Your week: 20 hours - Monday to Friday 08:30 to 12:30

The Vacancy
Do you have experience keeping buildings safe and running smoothly? As a Facilities Officer, you’ll coordinate maintenance, contractors, compliance and building services, helping create a safe, functional environment for staff, visitors and service users.
Snapshot of your role
- Manage the day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring it remains safe, functional and efficient.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs and contractor works across areas including heating, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance.
- Carry out regular Health & Safety inspections, report non-compliance and support compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Oversee security, cleaning, waste management and other building services, including access controls and emergency response arrangements.
- Support space planning and sustainability initiatives, including office layouts, resource allocation, waste reduction, energy efficiency and recycling.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, provide a professional service to staff and service users, and identify improvements to make facilities more efficient and cost effective.

What You’ll Need To Thrive In This Role
- A minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at grades A - C, alongside experience in facilities, building management or property maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in facilities, building management, or property maintenance, preferably in a similar operational environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities or emergencies when required.
- Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle to facilitate occasional travel to other offices and team meetings.
