Location: Cambridge Science Park (Primarily on-site)
Hours
Approximately 21 hours per week, with flexibility around working pattern and times to meet operational requirements.
Role Purpose
To support the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the Cambridge laboratory and office facilities. The role is responsible for facilities coordination, contractor management, workplace compliance and health and safety administration.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Contractor Management (45%)
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs and servicing across office, laboratory and external areas.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with contractors and facilities service providers.
- Monitor building services and ensure facilities issues are resolved promptly.
- Maintain facilities and contractor records.

Health, Safety & Compliance (40%)
- Support site health and safety activities, including workplace inspections, laboratory patrols and compliance checks.
- Maintain risk assessments, COSHH documentation and statutory compliance records.
- Coordinate contractor compliance, RAMS reviews and inductions.
- Support fire safety and emergency preparedness activities.
- Act as a designated Fire Warden and First Aider (training provided if required).
Reporting & Events (15%)
- Prepare facilities, compliance and H&S reports.
- Support annual and half-yearly reporting requirements.
- Coordinate company and employee events, including Summer Events and Kick-off Meetings.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous facilities, workplace or building operations experience.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with contractors and service providers.
- Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues.
- Good administration and record-keeping skills.
Desirable
- Experience supporting H&S activities and compliance.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, COSHH, RAMS and contractor management.
- First Aid and/or Fire Warden qualification.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent H&S training.
