Experienced Operations Manager Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager, to join a fast-growing, privately owned Facilities Management and Projects business.
About the Role
This is not a traditional large corporate FM environment.
Our client has built a modern, agile and highly responsive business delivering premium Facilities Management, M&E, HVAC and project services across high-quality commercial environments throughout the UK and Europe.
With an expanding portfolio, ambitious growth plans and a strong emphasis on quality, service and genuine client partnership, they are quickly establishing themselves as a standout operator within the high-end FM and projects market.
You’ll work closely with the Account Director and take ownership of the operational delivery of key client accounts, with significant autonomy to manage teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors while helping shape how the operational function develops as the business continues to grow.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of M&E, HVAC and Facilities Management services across a portfolio of commercial client environments.
Day to day, you’ll lead engineers, supervisors and supply-chain partners while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring contractual, commercial, compliance and operational standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of FM, M&E and HVAC services
- Leading engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and office-based support teams
- Acting as a senior operational contact for key clients
- Building strong, long-term client relationships
- Managing escalations and resolving operational issues quickly and professionally
- Monitoring SLAs, KPIs, PPM and reactive maintenance performance
- Managing labour, materials, subcontractor costs and operational budgets
- Carrying out site visits, audits and operational reviews
- Managing specialist suppliers and subcontractors
- Identifying operational risks, delays and performance issues
- Working closely with H&S teams to maintain high compliance standards
- Ensuring RAMS, statutory compliance and planned maintenance requirements are maintained
- Using CAFM systems and operational data to analyse and improve performance
- Developing SOPs, processes and best practice as the business grows
- Supporting the Account Director with commercial reporting and client business reviews

Ideal Candidate
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience within Facilities Management, M&E, HVAC or Building Services
- Good technical understanding of commercial mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience managing engineers, supervisors and subcontractors
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills
- Confidence handling client escalations and challenging operational situations
- Good commercial awareness and experience managing costs and budgets
- Experience working against SLAs, KPIs and contractual performance measures
- Experience using CAFM systems and operational reporting
- Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety and statutory compliance
- IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel to client sites across the UK and Ireland
