Facilities Operative (with Cleaning Duties)

We're currently recruiting a dedicated and flexible Facilities Operative (with Cleaning Duties) to support the daily upkeep and smooth running of our Central Office at Lombard House in Belfast.
🔧 About the Role
As our new Facilities Operative, you'll play a key role in keeping our workspace safe, clean and welcoming for staff, leaseholders and visitors. This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll help with everything from day-to-day cleaning and facilities support to preparing rooms for events and reporting maintenance issues.
This is more than just a cleaning job; it's an opportunity to contribute to a team that puts people first and delivers real impact every day.
This is a fixed-term position for one year, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational requirements. The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 1:00pm.
We are seeking a candidate who is available to start immediately and who can make a positive contribution to our Facilities team from day one.

🧼 What You'll Do
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness across bathrooms, offices, meeting rooms, kitchens and communal areas.
- Manage cleaning materials and equipment, ensuring safe storage and compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Support the wider Facilities team with room set-ups, building checks, minor maintenance tasks and reporting repairs.
- Prepare meeting and event spaces, including hospitality provision where required.
- Assist with building security, liaising with contractors, monitoring CCTV, and supporting the safe operation of the premises.
- Accept and distribute deliveries and internal mail, whilst providing Front of House support when required.

✅ Essential Criteria
- Willing to be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of the role, as on occasions the post holder may be required to work at weekends or additional hours to meet the needs of the role.
- Have a minimum of 2 GCSE passes at grade C or above, or equivalent, to include English Language and Mathematics (or a Higher Level Qualification) plus 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
OR - 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise workload.
