Facilities Subcontract Manager
Location: Padeswood, UK
Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable) – Inside IR35
Job Status: Full-Time, Site-Based
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Subcontract Manager to join a major construction project within the UK. This role will be responsible for managing and coordinating subcontractor service requirements relating to welfare facilities, personnel mobilisation, laydown areas, equipment coordination, and waste management. Acting as a key interface between the contracts team, construction management team, and subcontractors, you will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities across site facilities and support services
- Oversee welfare facilities, site services, and waste management requirements
- Manage personnel-on-site levels and mobilisation activities
- Coordinate laydown areas, subcontractor equipment, and site logistics
- Coordinate scaffold activities and associated subcontractors
- Schedule subcontractor work in line with project timelines and construction priorities
- Review subcontractor documentation including contracts, insurance, safety plans, and compliance records
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project updates and requirements
- Monitor subcontractor performance across safety, quality, and productivity metrics
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, site procedures, and HSE requirements
- Verify completed works and support payment, invoicing, and progress tracking activities
- Maintain accurate records of subcontractor activities and site conditions
- Support the resolution of scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and scope issues
- Collaborate with contracts and construction teams on subcontractor management and project delivery
- Support implementation of site safety procedures including permits to work, method statements, CDM requirements, and COSHH compliance

Requirements
- HNC in an Engineering discipline or a recognised Trade Apprenticeship with relevant technical qualifications
- 15+ years' experience in construction management, site coordination, field supervision, or subcontractor management
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and subcontract management processes
- Previous experience working within major project delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site interfaces
- IT literate with strong administrative and reporting skills
- Current CSCS card holder
- Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and legislation
- Experience working within multidisciplinary construction teams
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery excellence
