Job Title: Facilities Subcontract Manager
Location: Padeswood, North Wales
Contract: Initially 12 Months (3+ year project)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Requirements: 5 days per week on site, 40 hours per week
Overview
Our client is currently looking to engage a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their client's onshore construction team on a UK-based project.
The Facilities Subcontract Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating subcontractor service requirements relating to welfare facilities, personnel mobilisation, equipment and material laydown, and waste disposal. This role serves as the primary liaison between the contracts team, project construction team, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication, compliance with project requirements, and efficient on-site operations.
Responsibilities
- Act as a member of the site construction management team, responsible for the coordination, supervision, and management of subcontractors.
- Take overall responsibility for managing project welfare facilities, including all associated services and disposal requirements.
- Manage overall personnel-on-site levels.
- Coordinate laydown areas and subcontractor equipment requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractor work in line with project timelines, milestones, and critical path activities.
- Manage scaffold coordination activities.
- Review and monitor subcontractor contracts, scopes of work, insurance certificates, safety plans, and compliance documentation.
- Communicate project updates, changes, and deadlines to subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Conduct pre-construction and coordination meetings to clarify expectations and resolve potential conflicts.
- Monitor subcontractor performance in relation to quality, safety, and productivity, reporting issues to the Contracts Manager and Site Manager.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to site safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.
- Verify work completion for progress payments and assist with invoice and payment tracking.
- Maintain accurate daily records, reports, and logs of subcontractor activities and site conditions.
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and scope discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the contracts team during subcontractor selection and contract preparation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable safety legislation and associated responsibilities, including:
- Worley/Client Inductions
- Permits to Work
- CDM Regulations
- Assessment and approval of Method Statements
- COSHH Requirements
- Implementation of the Construction Safety Plan

- Working knowledge of all relevant safety legislation and associated responsibilities, including:
- Worley/Client Inductions
- Permits to Work
- CDM Regulations
- Assessment and approval of Method Statements
- COSHH Requirements
- Implementation of the Construction Safety Plan
- Previous experience in subcontractor management within a construction or industrial project environment.
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
- Strong understanding of site safety requirements and construction best practices.
