The Role
Are you a reliable, proactive and customer-focused individual who enjoys a hands-on role where no two days are the same? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Facilities Support Officer to join West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership. This varied position plays a vital role in ensuring our health centres remain safe, secure, welcoming and fully operational for patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a supportive team, you will provide facilities, security and caretaking services that directly contribute to the effective delivery of healthcare services. Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.
Interviews for this position are scheduled to be held on the 18th of August.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Part-time, Permanent
- Location: You will be based at Vale Centre for Health & Care - this post covers all sites
- Working Pattern: Working over Mon-Fri between 6.00 am - 8:30 pm
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and secure health centre premises including setting and unsetting alarms and carrying out security checks
- Provide facilities, caretaking and portering support to ensure buildings remain safe, clean and operational
- Maintain stock levels and distribute supplies, equipment and deliveries across departments
- Act as a key point of contact for facilities issues and report faults through appropriate processes
- Carry out routine maintenance checks, workplace inspections and minor repairs within the health centre
- Support emergency procedures including fire evacuations, alarm responses and incident reporting
- Assist with room set-ups, grounds maintenance, seasonal gritting and general environmental upkeep

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide a professional and helpful service
- Knowledge and understanding of working within a healthcare, facilities or customer service environment
- Awareness of security procedures, health and safety requirements and safe working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while using initiative to resolve issues and prioritise workload
- Competence in carrying out minor maintenance tasks and practical duties safely and effectively
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with the flexibility to travel between sites as required
- Experience within caretaking, security, portering, facilities or maintenance services would be advantageous but is not essential
