Facilities Team Leader

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Facilities Team Leader to join our team at HMP Frankland, Brasside, Durham (DH1 5YD). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a critical public service environment.

Salary: £34,054 - £40,060 per annum

Hours: 39 hours per week

Working on a rota basis, shifts are scheduled between:

  • Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:30
  • Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 - 16:00

The role includes working 1 in 3 weekends, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

As a Facilities Team Leader, you'll lead by example, supporting operational delivery, driving compliance and helping your team deliver outstanding service in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support the delivery of facilities management services, ensuring operational excellence and contractual compliance.
  • Promote a strong health, safety and security culture across the site, ensuring best practice is consistently followed.
  • Build effective relationships with HMPPS stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring service requirements are met.
  • Monitor performance and support the continuous improvement of service delivery standards.
  • Provide guidance and direction to operational teams, helping to create a positive and productive working environment.
  • Escalate risks, issues and opportunities promptly, ensuring swift resolution and effective communication with management teams.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements and operational best practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident IT user with experience of facilities management systems and reporting tools.
  • Previous experience within facilities, estates or property management environments.
  • Facilities Management qualifications and/or IOSH certification would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems is desirable.
