Overview of Role

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for the overall security management of both the Raytheon Glenrothes Facility and Livingston Facility. This role involves managing all security-related matters at Raytheon Livingston facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support involving all aspects of protective security relating to staff, information, and assets.
  • Initial point of contact for security.
  • Management of contracted site security team.
  • Manage site access and access control.
  • Manage the Cryptographic material as the Crypto Custodian if applicable.
  • Ensure all necessary site accreditations are upheld.
  • Manage the security of all applicable offsite and onsite events.
  • Ownership of security procedures and ensure they are adhered to and associated risks are managed correctly.
  • Liaising with Project / Programme teams and responding to customer security requirements.
  • Providing the primary response to, and investigating security incidents in a timely manner, ensuring that they are dealt with appropriately or escalated if necessary.
  • Highlighting and escalating any risks to the Project & Function.
  • Auditing of security systems and data-protection compliance.
  • Accountable to the contracting authority for Security Aspects Letters (SAL) and managing the flow down of SAL requirements to 3rd parties / subcontractors.
  • Oversight of staff travel and ensure necessary briefings are given appropriately.
  • Accountable for the security requirements of all overseas travel to meet with HMG International Visits Control Office (IVCO) & Corporate requirements.
  • Ownership of security risk register and critical assets register for applicable facilities and ensure risks are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
  • Security oversight of both off-site and on-site events.
  • Engagement with emergency services and law enforcement for the facility maintaining good working relationships.
  • Liaising within the Supplier’s organisation, and between Raytheon and Security Officials of the ISAC and CA.
  • Advising management on the interpretation and implementation of contractual and, where appropriate, legislative security controls.
  • Preparing and implementing Company Security Instructions, and making sure that they are made available to, and understood by all appropriate employees, updating them as necessary.
  • Being readily available for consultation and giving security advice to Raytheon management and employees.
  • Coordinating the planning of appropriate security controls for a new contract or for the alteration of buildings where classified assets are to be handled, stored, or produced.
  • Arranging for appropriate security education and awareness training, particularly for new staff, to ensure that they understand the scale, nature of the threats, and protective security controls required.
  • Ensuring that any breach of security is reported immediately to the CA and, if appropriate, the regional police, and that the circumstances are fully investigated, the outcome is recorded in the breaches register, and that a full report and impact analysis is passed to the CA.
  • Ensuring that any security incident involving classified material is reported in accordance with the Incident Reporting ISN to the CA and MOD Defence Industry Warning, Advice and Reporting Point.
  • Perform such other duties as the Head of Security directs or may require.
