FACTORY QA MANAGER
BRISTOL
£39,500 – pro rata, 3-month fixed term contract
Monday-Friday
About the Role
We’re looking for a Factory QA Manager on a fixed term contract to ensure that quality standards at Pieminister Kitchens are being upheld. Reporting to our Technical Manager you will ensure tasks relating to quality, safety and legality are completed by supporting production and carrying out specific tasks outlined by the quality management system.
We are looking for an experienced QA Manager or an ambitious and enthusiastic individual with quality assurance experience looking to develop their career in a food manufacturing environment.
The role will involve four weeks of evening shifts from 1pm-10pm across September and October. Hours outside of these weeks can be discussed at interview stage. Please contact us if you have any specific questions.
Responsibilities
- Managing the QA Assistant team at Pieminister including the rota and ensuring shifts are covered
- Support the Technical team’s activity in ensuring compliance with the site FSQMS, any necessary audit standards and legal requirements
- Support factory compliance with FSQMS including managing and organising GMP and fabrication audits
- Support factory compliance with traceability requirements including leading traceability exercises and organising for tests of the system
- Manage and help maintain documents required to support FSQMS
- Manage the control of non-conforming products in the factory
- Manage product labelling within the factory to include the use and management of the labelling software
- Support the production of pack copies and finished product specifications
- Manage calibration of equipment and ensuring these get completed in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with production managers, supervisors, team leaders and operatives
- Compile KPI data for the Technical department on a weekly basis for trend review
- Compile complaint information and support trend analysis
- Arrange microbiological sampling and analyse trends from results
- Investigate trending issues, one-off concerns or opportunities for improvement through root cause analyses
- Cover for QA team shifts as required

About You
Essential:
- Good communication and attention to detail
- Experience of working in a Technical team within a food manufacturing environment
- Experience of supporting FSQMS within a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Problem solving skills
- Flexibility in regard to working pattern when cover is needed
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of BRCGS food standard/similar GFSI standard
- Degree or equivalent in Food Science or similar
- HACCP L3/FSL3 preferred
- Experience in high-risk food manufacturing
- Experience in a supervisor/managerial position
