Job Title: International Placement Broker – Facultative Reinsurance, Casualty & Liabilities
Location: London
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

Role Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an International Placement Broker to join a specialist Facultative Reinsurance team, focusing on Casualty and Liability business.
The role will sit within an experienced international team and offer exposure to a broad portfolio of facultative placements, including risks originating from the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The team is flexible around territorial experience. Candidates may currently handle business from regions such as Canada, Australia, or other international markets, provided they have a strong grounding in casualty or liability broking and an understanding of the London Market placement process.

This is a hands-on broking position offering involvement across the full placement lifecycle. You will work across slip preparation, market presentations, quotations, negotiations, and placement, while gradually taking greater ownership of accounts and contributing to the successful conversion of new and existing opportunities.
For someone currently operating in a more support-led broking role, this offers a clear opportunity to become more involved commercially and develop into a well-rounded international facultative reinsurance broker.
Key Responsibilities
- Facultative Reinsurance Placement: Support and manage the placement of international Casualty and Liability facultative risks into the London Market, building broader technical and market expertise.
- Market Broking: Engage directly with insurers and reinsurers, obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and support the successful placement of complex international risks.
- Slip Preparation: Produce and maintain broking slips, presentations, and associated placement documentation, giving you ownership across the technical side of the placement process.
- Account Ownership: Take increasing responsibility for individual accounts, from initial submission through to placement, while developing stronger commercial judgement.
- Business Conversion: Work alongside senior brokers to quote and secure new and renewal business, gaining greater exposure to how international accounts are developed and won.
- International Exposure: Handle a varied portfolio of facultative Casualty and Liability business across territories including the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Requirements
- Experience within Casualty, Liability, or Facultative Reinsurance broking.
- Exposure to international risks and the London Market placement environment.
- Understanding of the broking process, including slip preparation, market submissions, and placement documentation.
- Comfortable approaching markets, obtaining quotations, and supporting negotiations.
- Strong attention to detail alongside the confidence to take increasing ownership of client and market activity.
- Adaptable approach and an interest in developing exposure across a broad range of international territories.
This role would suit someone who has built a solid technical foundation in international Casualty or Liability broking and is now looking for more exposure, responsibility, and ownership within facultative reinsurance.
The business will also support candidates who wish to continue progressing through relevant professional qualifications.
