Overview
FAI Runner Required on site in Wolverhampton, to assist the onsite FAI Team. Candidate will need to have good knowledge of FAIR Packs and have a good understanding of what is required in a complete FAIR Pack.
Knowledge/ Experience in compiling FAIRS is required.
First Article Inspector/FAI Runner
The FAI Runner is responsible for supporting the First Article Inspection (FAI) process by coordinating the movement of aerospace components, inspection documentation, and associated records throughout the manufacturing and quality departments. The role ensures all materials and paperwork required for AS9102-compliant inspections are available, accurate, and delivered on time to support production schedules and customer requirements.
First Article Inspector/FAI Runner Requirements
- First Article Inspector / FAI Runner must have knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
- First Article Inspector / FAI Runner will have an understanding of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Knowledge / Experience in compiling FAIRS is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of document control and traceability requirements.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Previous experience within a Quality department.

- Coordinate and expedite aerospace components through the First Article Inspection process.
- Collect and deliver parts, drawings, route cards, certificates, and inspection documentation between departments.
- Prepare and organise First Article Inspection packs in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- First Article Inspector / FAI Runner will ensure all required documentation is complete and available before inspection activities commence.
- Track FAI progress and update relevant systems and stakeholders.
- Liaise with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues affecting inspection schedules.
- Verify part identification, revision status, and traceability information.
- Support Quality Inspectors with inspection preparation activities.
- Maintain accurate records within ERP, MRP, and quality management systems.
- Escalate documentation discrepancies, non-conformances, or missing information.
- First Article Inspector / FAI Runner will ensure compliance with company procedures, aerospace regulations, and customer requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
