FAIR Inspector / Engineer
Location: Greater Manchester
Working Arrangement: Full-time | On-site
The Opportunity:
We are recruiting for an experienced FAIR Inspector / Engineer to join an established engineering organisation at its Greater Manchester manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional with strong First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) experience gained within a metallic manufacturing environment, ideally within the aerospace or defence sectors.
The Role:
You will be responsible for compiling, reviewing, and submitting full and delta FAIRs, ensuring manufactured components meet the required engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Compiling, reviewing, and submitting full and delta FAIRs.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Inspecting sheet metal, assembled, machined, and/or turned components.
- Using inspection and measuring equipment, including hand measuring tools, Keyence, and CMM equipment.
- Supporting non-conformance and MRB processes.
- Maintaining accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Working in accordance with established QMS/IMS procedures.
- Following company 5S, quality, and health & safety standards.

Skills and Experience Required:
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years' FAIR compilation experience within a metallic manufacturing environment.
- Experience compiling both full and delta FAIRs.
- A strong understanding of sheet metal and/or machining manufacturing processes.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of aerospace and/or defence quality standards.
- An understanding of QMS/IMS and non-conformance/MRB processes.
- Experience using inspection equipment such as hand measuring tools, Keyence, and/or CMM.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications and FAIR software.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
