Family & Community Support Worker - Liverpool (Fixed Term Maternity Cover)
Salary: £26,829.86 per year
Location: Liverpool & surrounding areas
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Maternity cover until November 2027
About The Role
This position is a Fixed-Term Maternity cover role, providing support to individuals and families in temporary accommodation to help them build skills, confidence, and stability for independent living.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support people to develop practical independent living skills
- Help with budgeting, bills, tenancy responsibilities, and managing a home
- Support housing applications and navigate systems such as Property Pool Plus
- Support people to access employment, education, and training
- Work with Social Workers, healthcare professionals, DWP, Police, and other agencies
- Complete weekly property checks and maintain safe and suitable accommodation
- Support people to manage challenges, develop confidence, and make positive choices
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
- Signpost to specialist services, including mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse support
- Keep accurate records and write clear reports about progress, support needs, and outcomes

About You
We are looking for someone with experience in roles that support people's independence, such as housing, homelessness, family support, youth work, community work, employability, criminal justice, health and social care, or another relevant field.

- Strong communication skills
- Independent and organized, with the ability to manage your own caseload and travel between locations
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle insured for business use
- Willingness to travel across Liverpool and the surrounding area
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to work towards it
