Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families? West Berkshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Family Help Lead Practitioner. About The Role
As a Family Help Lead Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing effective interventions to children and families in need. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering timely and appropriate interventions to address the identified needs of children and families.
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
- Conducting assessments and reviews to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Providing advice, guidance, and support to families to promote positive change.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with organisational requirements.
This role is fixed term for 12 months - maternity cover.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experience working within a similar role, providing interventions to children and families.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis and will be reviewed annually to ensure only employees driving 1500 miles or more receive this allowance.
