We have a fantastic opportunity for two Family Help Practitioners to join us, who are passionate about helping families make sustainable, positive changes before challenges escalate.
As a Family Help Practitioner, you'll work directly with children, young people and their families, delivering strengths-based interventions that build resilience, improve outcomes and reduce the need for ongoing statutory involvement.
Working as part of the Family Help Team, you'll carry a varied caseload, undertake whole-family assessments, coordinate Team Around the Family meetings and build strong partnerships with schools, health services, voluntary organisations and wider family networks. You'll play a vital role in ensuring children's voices are heard, supporting positive parenting, and empowering families to achieve lasting change.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering high-quality, strengths-based support and interventions to children, young people and families.
- Completing whole-family assessments and co-producing outcome-focused Family Help Plans.
- Acting as Lead Professional and coordinating Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.
- Building effective partnerships with education, health, police and voluntary sector colleagues.
- Working creatively with children and young people to ensure their voices influence planning and decision-making.
- Delivering practical support, parenting interventions and evidence-informed approaches to improve family resilience.
- Supporting families experiencing challenges such as poverty, domestic abuse, mental health difficulties and substance misuse.
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and championing inclusive practice for all families.

What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or significant experience working with children and families.
- Experience delivering direct interventions that improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, early intervention and children's social care legislation.
- Strong relationship-building, assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage complex situations and engage effectively with a wide range of partners and families.
