We’re looking for a Family Intervention Senior Practitioner to join our Suffolk & North-East Essex Neurodiversity Support Service.
At Kids, we believe every child and young person deserves to feel understood, valued, and supported. Our service works with children and young people aged 5-18 with autism and/or ADHD, alongside their parents and carers, helping families feel informed, confident, and empowered.

About The Role
As a Family Intervention Senior Practitioner, you’ll provide direct support to children, young people, and their families across Suffolk.
You’ll manage your own caseload, assess individual and family needs, and develop tailored support plans. You’ll deliver one-to-one and group-based programmes, interventions, and workshops, helping children and young people develop their confidence, resilience, emotional wellbeing, and understanding of themselves.
You’ll also work closely with parents and carers, offering practical guidance and reassurance, and build positive relationships with professionals across health, education, social care, and community services.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll help maintain high standards of practice while providing guidance and support to colleagues, volunteers, and team members with lived experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming support to autistic and ADHD children and young people aged 5-18.
- Assessing needs and developing, delivering, and reviewing individual support plans.
- Managing and prioritising a varied caseload while maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Supporting children and families in areas such as emotional wellbeing, anxiety, emotional regulation, sensory needs, sleep, social communication, and resilience.
- Delivering individual and group programmes and workshops for children, families, and professionals.
- Providing practical guidance, information, and reassurance to parents and carers.
- Working collaboratively with professionals across health, education, social care, and community services.
- Recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues, volunteers, and people with lived experience.
- Contributing to reflective practice, quality assurance, and the ongoing development of the service.

Role-specific induction and training in the service’s programmes and intervention approaches will be provided.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Relevant experience supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental differences, and/or emotional wellbeing needs.
- A good understanding of autism and ADHD and the importance of individualised, strengths-based support.
- Experience of working directly with parents and carers and building positive relationships with families.
- Experience of assessing needs, developing support plans, managing risk, and reviewing progress.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Experience of, or the confidence to, deliver workshops, group sessions, or presentations.
- The ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Relevant qualifications in health, education, social care, youth work, or family support would be desirable. We’ll also consider candidates who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and substantial relevant experience.
Essential Requirements
Due to the nature of this role, you must:
- Live within the Suffolk area.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, appropriate business-use insurance.
- Be willing and able to travel regularly across Suffolk.
- Be able to work flexibly when required, which may occasionally include working outside standard hours to meet the needs of children, young people, and families.
